Speech and language pathology focuses on improving all areas involved in communication. ¬†Speech language pathologists evaluate, diagnose, and treat anything that impedes a child’s ability to communicate, whether the area of speech or language. ¬†Communication encompasses not only the child’s ability to express their wants and needs, but also to comprehend and process the language or wants and needs of others.
